Tamara Buzukashvili
Postdoctoral Fellow
Tamara explores adolescents' and their parents' values and identity development following migration and stressful life events. Tamara completed her M.A. and PhD in educational counseling in the Department of Education at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Her research interests include career development, identity formation processes, motivation, emotion regulation, and relatedness in various developmental and cultural contexts. Currently, Tamara teaches students in the master's educational counseling program and medical students in a national professional program for leadership development. She is married to Yaniv and a mother of four. She finds joy in traveling with her family, reading, and writing in her free time.
Adi Edelman-Arden
Postdoctoral fellow
Adi focuses her research on exploring the role of self-regulation in the relationship between values and behavior. She earned her master's in educational counseling and completed her doctoral studies at the School of Education at Ben-Gurion University. Adi's dissertation delved into the concept of good motherhood by integrating insights from self-determination theory and identity formation theories. Alongside her post-doctoral studies, Adi teaches in the master's program in educational counseling at Ben-Gurion University. Married to Tzvika and a mother of three, she finds joy in traveling with her family, jogging in the orchards surrounding her kibbutz, and spending time with family and close friends.
Atheer Massarwe
Postdoctoral Fellow
Atheer Massarwe is a postdoctoral fellow at the VIDA Lab, where she investigates how prosocial behavior influences self-transcendence values. She completed her MA and PhD in the Department of Special Education at the University of Haifa. Her doctoral research focused on the benefits of extrinsic emotion regulation for both individuals with depression and those without, and explored the strategies people use to help others regulate their emotions. Currently, Atheer serves as a chairwoman in the Ministry of Education and is set to embark on new roles as a pedagogical guide and lecturer. Despite her busy professional life, Atheer is a loving mother who cherishes and values spending quality time with her family. She is also a lover of both animals and plants. Traveling, reading books, and writing bring joy to Atheer.
Hanit Ohana
Postdoctoral Fellow
Hanit is a postdoctoral fellow at the Paul Baerwald School of Social Work and Social Welfare at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Her postdoctoral research project focuses on discrepancies in parent-youth acculturation and their effects on family functioning and adjustment among immigrant families in Israel. Hanit completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in the Department of Counseling and Human Development at the University of Haifa. Her doctoral dissertation focused on parent-child relational aspects and biological markers of pubertal development. She is a qualified and experienced educational counselor and psychotherapist. Currently, she supervises school counselors in the Psychological Advisory Service Department at the Ministry of Education in Israel. Hanit’s research interests include trajectories of parent-child relationships and later developmental outcomes, such as subsequent relationships, self-esteem, and internalizing and externalizing problems. Outside of her professional life, Hanit is happily married and a mother of two. She finds joy in an active lifestyle, particularly sports, and values quality time spent with family and friends. Her love for the ocean and attending live music events are ways she enjoys her free time.
